Design and Analysis of a Separator for Aluminium Dust Particle Collection

Cyclone separators are considered one of the most common and widely used method separating solid particles from fluids. The focus this paper was to design a separator that could effectively improve air quality an industrial working environment by considering factors such as nature restrictions on device size operating condition. To do so, sample dust studied determine characteristics aluminum dust. An initial model which satisfied separation condition developed, second developed with goal optimizing reducing overall separator. All models were subjected CFD simulations analyze flow patterns, rate at various particle diameters well comparing against theoretical predicted values. simulation results showed how change in parameters improved efficiency. total height approximately 20% smaller than proposed fit into manufacturer’s workbench while efficiencies average 5% 10% across sizes. obtained indicated efficiency collection is dependent area barrel inlet depth vortex finder.
